Our weekend...

This past weekend, like all was pretty busy...however, nice!

Friday evening Sean was off work, so we had the evening together. I had made dinner so we had a nice meal...and then decided since the weather was nice we would go for a walk. Our neighborhood is literally up hills, then down, so on and so forth, so I asked if we could go do a trail...and we found ourselves at Virginia Kendall where we walked for a bit and then watched the sunset. It was so nice. As we walked back to the car, I felt like a teen in love holding hands across the field to our car. It is so great to have moments like these...hand in hand and so happy.

Saturday afternoon, Sean and I had a "date night" which proved that we are a boring married couple...we found ourselves after a nice dinner at Outback (FREE with our cash back rewards from Discover Card) Then, we went to go to the movies with our FREE movie passes, but the guy at the theatre said "hey buddy haven't been an AMC for a year" then he continued to write on his little clip board. I then protested and said "apparently he doesn't want to sell us tickets; and we left". This is where we become boring....we went to Target to get a shower curtain and Lowe's to get a planted flower pot for our open house the next day. We then went and got some ice cream...which was sooo good. (Can you tell that's what I crave?) Once we got home, our neighbors called us and asked if we would like to come over and watch a movie; so we did; which made us feel a little bit less boring; since we were arriving home from our date just shy of 9pm.

Sunday, was just as nice....after cleaning the condo, I went to my Mom's house and she and I went to Target then, lunch at Panera...(she bought my lunch since I was a good little girl while she ran her errands at Target). After lunch, we went back to her house and I napped for a few hours; shopping made me tired apparently. When I woke up; I went home; Sean had just gotten off work and we had to go the the grocery store....now, most of you probably think of grocery store shopping as a pain...I do too! But, Sean, he's hilarious with grocery shopping! He dances around like Carlton from 'Fresh Prince', literally sneaks in and gives me a kiss as he secretively is adding items into my nicely organized cart. We start out with produce and by the time we get to the end of the store- we are stacking items on top of everything; including on the bread! (I hate that). We then always do the self checkout; I scan and he bags. We also try to guess how much we saved with coupons and our advantage card (this time was our best at $20 and have .60 cents off gas!) When we get home, we both bring in groceries, he puts away the dry stuff; and I do the cold stuff. I love this routine as we work really well together. I will have to say we will have to think of a new strategy when Connor is born since we over fill our cart...and can't even imagine a car seat carrier in there too!

Then of course, our Sunday evening ended with Desperate housewives...and ear wax candles! Yes, they are candles you put in your ear and it pulls out all the wax. I swear by them; they help with allergies and colds, etc. Well, you can't do it alone as there is a flame and someone needs to keep their 'eye' on it. Well, apparently time slipped by and Sean was like; don't move!!! Right as I was moving....the candles ashes fell onto the plate and Sean quickly blew at the fire causing ashes and some of the flame to go EVERYWHERE! It was funny because he then continued to say "LYNSEY DONT MOVE". There wasn't a fire, but there certainly was A LOT of laughter!

This is truly the life that I have dreamed of...and I am so thankful to have been able to spend some time with Sean the past few days.

2 steps forward; 3 steps back

This past week, I really felt was  a rough week on me....yes, my birthday week and all; it just seemed like I kept grabbing the short end of the stick.    You see, as we all know I am expecting a little boy in 3 shorts months.  My world right now is in a constant "what if" state.  It seems like I have no control of a lot of things in my life right now.  I won't know when the condo will sell, where we will go, when Connor will arrive, what if all of that happens at the same time?  I know, I know, you're thinking; Lynsey- serisously one day at a time.  But, this is hard for me, "the type A, follow a list and check it off type of person".

You see, about a month ago, I scheduled all of these appointments so I can try to keep control with things.  Dentist appointments, eye Dr check up, my normal Dr. appointment, shopping with friends, and well, all of that on top of trying to work and have the energy to workout; it's just hard to keep up and stay ahead.

Well, last week, not only did I have to cancel my dentist appointment because I didn't realize with my heart murmor that my actual family Dr had to see me to prescribe me my antibiotic...and well, with less than a weeks notice, I wasn't about to wait 3 hours in her waiting room.  So, I cancelled the dentist appointment.  A few days later, the eye Dr. receptionist calls and says that they do not accept our insurance and I would have to pay 100%....so, I cancelled that appointment as well.   It just seems as I sit, trying to get caught up in taking care of my health and my husbands- I keep getting the short of end of the stick trying to get ahead.  Sean on the other hand will be going to the dentist tomorrow morning for a teeth cleaning; lucky guy!

So, today, I sat in need of a hair cut- so after church; I left (as Sean worked on Connor's room) and I went and cut 5 inches off of my hair; and then I got layers- so...needless to say- I am not going to grow it out anymore to donate it.  I just couldn't do it; I wanted my nice healthy hair back; so I took control and got my hair cut!  Now...I hate it!  But it will grow back and it looks a lot healthier.

This week; Sean and I have a lot scheduled...he has dentist appointment and job interview for a promotion on Monday.  I have my ultrasound to check on Connor on Tuesday (please keep fingers crossed that they can see all 4 healthy heart chambers).  Wednesday evening, we have an infant CPR class, Thursday evening we have a meeting to see how much we qualify for a house...once the condo sells.  And, Friday evening; we have something planned, I am just forgetting at this point (hopefully it's relaxing) Saturday we are off to register for Connor....so with that all said...I am off to paint my nails and pamper myself as this next work week seems like it's going to be a busy one.

So, as you venture into a new work week, do the best with what you have; and well...let's hope that everything goes as planned and we aren't taking any steps backwards this week.

Let's hope this doesn't stop for 50+ years!

This morning is yes, my birthday! I am not one to really LOVE my birthday; I don't like the attention and I would rather give gifts then receive...which always makes it difficult for others to think of something for me.

Well, this morning, I was laying there all snug in my bed (I sleep alone now with my tossing and turning like a fish out of water). Well, as I laid slumber all snug in my bed, I felt the covers lift off me and then Sean crawled in with me; holding me tight and wishing me a "Happy Birthday". He was so sweet about it (since I am not a morning person). He then told me I didn't look any older! Then, as I slowly woke up, he started to get excited and he said; "Guess what?!?.....You're now the age that you will be when you have Connor!"

All in all, waking up this morning was so nice...which I can only hope that this happens for the next 50+ years!
