when it rains...it pours!

First off- Sean is doing GREAT minus his lack of wisdom (ha ha ha!)  He's healing nicely with his little chipmunk cheeks!
Secondly, I have come to find, when it rains, it POURS!   In the past week or two, the following have broke...and we need (or needed) new...
  • Sean's front/back brakes for his car
  • The garage door spring (thank goodness no one got hurt)
  • My FAVORITE large salad bowl (my doing)
  • Our dryer's motor went kerplunk...
  • ...not to mention all the other Dr. bills for me; and now Sean's mouth too...so, indeed; when it rains....it indeed pours!
But, all in all; these are all material items.  I am healthy, Sean is healthy, my family is healthy...so, I will sit back, continue to pray that my family remains healthy...and that everything else will continue to fall into place and hopefully be repaired....cheap...

Wisdom...

Sean is going to be getting his wisdom teeth pulled this morning...so, we both have the next 4 days off with each other.  Now, for me; I was out of bed the evening and eating spagetti O's...Sean, I think will be a different story; sooo....I have made a HUGE to-do list while I am home.

Clean out car, vacuum car, oil change, organize wedding pictures, organize all my other pictures as well, order photobook from our wedding- (yes, will have to look at each and every picture), organize & pack up some storage areas (so they can be filled in a few weeks with baby stuff; ie diapers, etc.)

I think that is it for now; however...is this the begining of nesting; or just me wanting to get caught up on some things?!?!

Wish Sean luck; he has one tooth completely sideways- you should have seen the x-rays...

My Mom...

Yesterday was Mother's Day and I have to say- I hope I can be half the Mom, my Mom is...which would be a pretty darn good Mom!

My Mom has always been there for us three girls; and very understanding of each of our needs as growing up, we were all VERY different.  My Mom raised me in a single parent house when I was the mere age of one; but that didn't stop her from being a room Mom, a girl scout leader, and a sport cheerer all the while working full time and I believe part time as well.  My Mom came to all of our school plays.  She took us out for ice cream for dinner.  We went on vacations.  My Mom was the "cool Mom" on the block as all the neighborhood kids would always play tricks on her...like stacking all the Christmas trees in front of her garage so she couldn't leave for work in the morning; or toilet papering our house- I believe once we counted 300 rolls.  My Mom is a nurse, so for us girls, we would say "Mom, I hurt my ________" and her candid response would always be "It will heal before you get married".   We would be sick; and she would say "did you throw up?" No, okay you're off to school".  (Mom, remember that one time when I was really sick and you didn't believe me, because I laid on your bed and took my hand and put it on my forehead as if I were acting....I then threw up all over your room).  My Mom is by far an amazing woman.

Now, my Mom also has some fun stories behind her madness of this balancing act; I won't mention that one time she hit the BIG orange barrels on the turnpike when her mind was lost somewhere else.  Or that time when she scared the ice cream man away, what about that time the family was off to the circus and a deer came flying over our car....these are all great moments of my Mom....that we will never her let live down. (Just kidding with these Mom).

My Mom to this day puts us before anything; even her own needs most of the time.  My Mom has been a great Mom over the years, and now, as I am embarking on this journey into Motherhood...I hope I can be half the Mom she is for my sisters and I.  I love you Mom!

I've always wanted...

A camera that would take lots of pictures in rapid succession; and now, I have one!  I have specifically been asking for the Nikon D40 just shy of a year now...and well, yesterday when I was at work, Sean called me.  I picked up the phone and the conversation went something like this...

Sean: I'm going to make dinner, what would you like,
breakfast or chicken, mashed potatoes, and a veggie?
Me: Definitely breakfast.
Sean: Okay, I will have it ready when you get home, then we can go to Target and get your camera!
Me: WHAT?!?!
Sean: What kind of breakfast do you want?
Me: Ramble on about eggs, biscuts, etc.

I arrive home a few hours later and sure enough breakfast was near complete.  We then, shipped out to Target.  We arrive to the electronic section (where I may add- it was a nut house). The service guy asks us if we need assistance...long story short within literally 5 minutes; I have my dream camera, additional lens, and a receipt in my hand!  I couldn't believe it.  I am so excited to use this camera to capture memories and moments...now if it would stop raining so I can go outside and play!
Here's what it look likes...

Taking it all in...

Right now, I am sitting on my front porch of my little condo thinking how great it would be if we received an offer on the condo; or even someone to request to see the condo....as I sit here thinking of all the wants in the world, I am forgetting to take it all in.

As I sit here, the temperature is perfect, the sun is beginning to set between the tall pine trees and the birds are chirping a little tune. I can literally hear the wind. As I sit here and think to myself;  I need to remember to live in the moment.  Live in the moment that I have a little boy inside me kicking me; which I love feeling that.  It's time to take a deep breath, stop what you are doing and reflect on where you are right now.  Life certainly gives us a lot of curve balls in life.  A lot of "what ifs" and "but..." but life also tends to give us some moments and time to reflect.  I have been doing a lot of that lately...have you taken the time for you?  Off to daydream....
