Well, I thought I would update you all on our first valentine's day as a married couple. This year I really wanted to do something memorable...and I think I accomplished that!
We woke up and Sean was thrilled to give me my presents; there they sat on the dinning room table a dozen of red roses and a large bag of goodies; a stuffed bear; peanut m & m's (my fav), other chocolates, a picture frame (my fav), and a few other fun things including a little princess heart shaped candy (he's too cute).
After he gave me my presents; he and I made breakfast together...pancakes, eggs, sausage, toast, lots of stuff. I even tried to use my new 'smooch lips' cookie cutter to make the pancakes; but it wasn't working; then I tried hearts, and then I gave up; we had circles!
Sean knew he wasn't getting my gift until 4:30- and that I had a quick errand to run at 4:20- but I would be back to pick him up and he had to be ready. So, I left and then ran to Giant Eagle to pay for a large cookie that said "I love Sean" on it. As I left Giant Eagle, I called Sean...here's how the rest played out. I told him via the phone that if he wanted to see me again; he had to go to his jacket and follow the clues as quick as possible. Inside his jacket was a prerecorded card that told him I loved him and that he had to follow the clue on the left hand side and all of those that followed and to have fun. The first clue was to my aunt's house; where she greeted him at the door telling him to hurry to the next stop...that was Giant Eagle (to pick up the cookie I just paid for). The next stop was my Mom's mailbox. Then, the best stop in my opinion was the dollar tree, where he left with 10 valentine Mylar balloons. He was then directed to his Dad's house where he got his last clue to meet at our first date restaurant. There, I had reserved the SAME booth we sat at for our first date. Each stop also had his favorite candies and other little presents to keep him moving.

(This is Sean leaving the dollar tree; yes, I was hiding and took pics!)
As we sat at dinner; I looked around the restaurant (we haven't been back since our first date) and I kept looking at him; and I remember sitting there the first time hoping that 'this guy' would be the guy. I am so lucky to have Sean enter my life and to say that he has made me incredibly happy is an understatement.
And, for all of those who are wondering; what did Sean think of this scavenger hunt?!? He said over and over that it was very creative, he's excited to see what I will do for our kids most of all....he did enjoy it; even better he had no clue about it and was very surprised and touched by it.

What a great idea!!!! I am jealous of your creativity. It sound like your kids will be very lucky to have you as parents!!!
Aw, Lynsey, this is really great. The summer after high school, my boyfriend at the time did something like this for my 18th birthday, leading me around town to places with meaning to us, with a series of clues with a friend at each stop and a guitar lesson & a picnic in a park when I got to the end. Romantic scavenger hunts are the BEST. Sounds like you pulled it off pretty well. <3

You two are so sweet! I wish everyone could be as happy as you. The world would be a better place!
